PCmerge is owned and operated by Robinson Professional Services Pty Ltd and managed by John Robinson, formerly held positions as: ANZ/SPI Country Manager for NComputing (a world leader in Desktop Virtualisation Technology), General Manager for Digital Data Communications (Level One networking product suite), ANZ Country Manager for Anthology Solutions (Yellow Machine, Terabyte Network Storage Appliance), ANZ Country Manager for AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) for their CPU business in the IT market, Regional Manager for IBM Microelectronics Division, ANZ Country Manager for Texas Instruments Semiconductor Division.
Commencing PCmerge in February 2010, I have embarked on a long-yearned mission to go to the 'other side' into the distribution/channel field, but to do it in a very special way that totally focuses on a technology and a prime vendor. NComputing has shown faith in my ability and has given PCmerge full distribution status for Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Islands.
My role as VP, Country Manager at NComputing for 18 months had enlightened my view on the huge opportunity in the desktop virtualisation market. The product and technology is very "channel-oriented" but the biggest challenge I faced on day one was generating awareness to that channel and, in turn, generating awareness to the end market - namely education, small/medium business, corporate and government.
So I have taken up this challenge and set up a dual business model through PCmerge that enables me to be in control of my own destiny. PCmerge will sell direct at Recommended Retail Prices. At the same time PCmerge will be encouraging genuine resellers and system integrators to align and "share the spoils" by providing them with an attractive margin to participate in this lucrative business.
The important enticement for the reseller channel and the system integrator is that NComputing products allows them to offer total bundled multi-user solutions (PC's, Servers, Monitors, Keyboards +NComputing Devices) at half the price of equivalent traditional computer solution providers and at the same time offer their clients huge savings in management costs (around 75%) and energy costs (around 90%) thus providing the greenest and most sustainable PC solution available in the market today.
The additional major opportunity for MSP’s is to provide remote management and generate lucrative recurring revenue.
